About The Position

The Sanitation Associate is responsible for controlling all environmental and in-depth equipment cleaning to ensure the safety and quality of our food products. This role involves disassembling and setting up production equipment, cleaning equipment using COP and CIP systems, verifying proper cleaning and set-up, managing sanitation supplies, and operating material handling equipment. The associate will also monitor and test chemical concentrations in CIP systems, maintain CIP Chart Recorders, document information on charts and logs, and use bioluminescence technology for verification. Adherence to the plant's Master Cleaning Schedule, basic troubleshooting of sanitation equipment, and training new associates are key aspects of this position. The role also requires maintaining a safe and orderly work area according to GMP and Safety guidelines, operating Rich's SCADA system, completing paperwork, and performing other assigned duties. Training in other plant areas, such as the Valve and Pump PM program, may also be required.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • One-year work experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds
  • Must have good communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Has an awareness of and the ability to follow Associate Safety guidelines
  • Has an awareness of and the ability to follow GMP and Food Safety guidelines
  • Understands proper machine operating and adjusting procedures
  • Must have the ability to work in and contribute to Production Improvement, Associate Involvement and Temporary Teams, as assigned

Nice To Haves

  • Six-month work experience in Sanitation or Sanitation Teams preferred
  • Must have the ability to train other Associates in Sanitation/Environmental operations
  • Must have the desire and ability to operate as a member of a Self-Directed work team
  • Must be proficient on Rich’s SCADA and/or Kleanz system

Responsibilities

  • Disassembles and sets up all production equipment
  • Cleans all equipment using COP and CIP systems
  • Verifies the proper cleaning and set-up of all equipment
  • Puts away production and sanitation materials
  • Drives material handling equipment
  • Monitors/tests chemical concentration of all CIP systems
  • Maintains CIP Chart Recorders
  • Documents necessary information on charts and CIP logs
  • Takes inventory of sanitation supplies
  • Uses bioluminescence technology to verify CIP systems
  • Performs tasks according to the plant Master Cleaning Schedule
  • Performs basic troubleshooting of all Sanitation equipment
  • Trains new Associates on required skill sets for Environmental Operations
  • Maintains work area in a safe and orderly fashion according to GMP and Safety guidelines
  • Operates Rich’s SCADA system and completes appropriate paperwork
  • Performs any other related miscellaneous duties assigned by Lead person
  • Required to train in other areas of the plant as required by the learning program, which may include Valve and Pump PM program
