About The Position
The Sanitation Associate is responsible for maintaining a clean and sanitary environment within the production facility. This includes washing and sanitizing all production equipment and utensils, ensuring floors are free of debris, and properly handling waste disposal. The role requires adherence to safety procedures, proper use of cleaning chemicals, and reporting of any machinery issues. The associate will also participate in pre-operational checks, sanitation checklists, and special assignments as needed.
Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent qualification
- Good verbal and written English language skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Self-starter
- Detail oriented and ability to work well under pressure and with minimal supervision.
- Able/willing to work graveyard shift
Nice To Haves
- Some experience in working in a food manufacturing plant is an asset
Responsibilities
- Wash and sanitize all production equipment and utensils, ensuring they are free of dirt, soybeans, soy skin, soymilk, Okara, tofu bits and protein haze.
- Ensure that all floors are free of garbage such as tofu bits, soy skins, Okara, caps, plastic film, soy beans, paper, etc.
- Ensure that garbage is not dumped into drains but is swept and dumped into the garbage bins.
- Properly cover all electrical components prior to pressure washing or general rinsing of any equipment to prevent water damage.
- Follow all working procedures, using the correct cleaning chemicals and correct concentration of cleaning chemicals.
- Follow all safety-working procedures and wear all correct personal protective equipment when working.
- Report any machinery problems to the Sanitation Lead Hand or Maintenance staff.
- Perform pre-op and post-checks with team members.
- Perform sanitation checklist.
- Carry out special assignments given by the QA Manager.
- Carry out production related assignments as required.
- Participate in root cause analysis.
