About The Position

The Sanitation Associate is an integral part of the Cranford team, responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary environment. This role ensures that all production equipment, tools, and facility areas meet strict cleanliness and hygiene standards in compliance with food safety regulations, company policies, and industry best practices. You will play a key role in ensuring compliance with local, state, and national food safety regulations, including the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA). In the event of an absence, this role will serve as the primary backup for other Cleaning & Sanitation associates.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED; or equivalent combination of experience and education.
  • At least one (1) year of experience as a cleaner in a food service or manufacturing facility.
  • Demonstrated experience with GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices) and general sanitation protocols.
  • Ability to walk and stand for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to climb stairs and ladders comfortably.
  • Ability to work in tight spaces and at varying heights (using scissor lifts or ladders).
  • Extremely detail-oriented with a strong sense of urgency to complete work in a timely manner.
  • Must be punctual, reliable, and possess an excellent work ethic.

Responsibilities

  • Clean and sanitize assigned areas, production equipment, and tools within the manufacturing facility to prepare for smooth operations, while strictly following safety rules, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) guidelines.
  • Perform cleaning tasks that may require working in tight spaces, climbing ladders, and working at heights to ensure all areas of the facility are reached.
  • Operate floor scrubbers and Powered Industrial Vehicles (PIVs), including forklifts, pallet jacks, and scissor lifts. (Must be willing to learn how to operate new equipment as needed).
  • Accurately complete all related cleaning logs and records to document that proper cleaning procedures were followed.
  • Strictly adhere to proper sanitation, safe handling of chemicals, proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) usage, product safety guidelines, and GMPs throughout the plant.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the lead/supervisor.
