The Massachusetts Department of Public Health (MDPH) is seeking an experienced Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) to serve as the SANE Regional Coordinator for Northeastern (NE) Massachusetts. This role is crucial in ensuring that residents have access to trauma-informed SANE services when they are sexually assaulted. The coordinator will work closely with the Associate Director for In-person SANE services to achieve this goal, ensuring a 24/7, 365-day response from MDPH-designated hospitals in the region. The position also involves working with clinicians at these hospitals to guarantee a high-quality, trauma-informed patient care experience. The MA SANE Program is expanding to meet the growing need for SANE services in supporting the recovery of sexual assault survivors. The ideal candidate will be committed to enhancing the quality of life for all Commonwealth residents and addressing health inequities, particularly those affecting people of color and individuals with disabilities who are disproportionately impacted by sexual violence. Acknowledgment of the historical and structural impact of racism on health outcomes and its role in sexual violence is also important.
