About The Position

Doncasters is seeking a Sandblast Operator to join their team in Groton, Connecticut. This role involves operating sandblasting equipment to process a variety of castings, ensuring they meet quality standards and production goals. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, can work independently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, and is committed to producing high-quality work.

Requirements

• High school and/or technical school completion
• 1-3 Years in a manufacturing environment
• Basic shop math skills

Responsibilities

• Operates sandblasting equipment to process a wide variety of castings in accordance with established procedures and methods.
• Loads and unloads parts.
• Removes surface contaminants.
• Applies the required surface finish while maintaining production and quality standards.
• Performs routine minor maintenance, including nozzle changes and basic equipment upkeep.
• Identifies and reports defective materials, equipment issues, and unusual operating conditions to supervisors or leads.
• Works independently using daily shipping plans, WIP sheets, post-cast decision boards, and production priorities to support daily, weekly, and monthly shipping and manufacturing goals.
• Consistently maintains required production rates with acceptable quality standards.
