About The Position

Foundry work is tough. It takes grit, it takes hard work, and it takes people who can think on their feet and solve complex problems. Are you up to the task? Our history dates back to 1905, when we began to produce castings in Elyria, Ohio, for the machine tool, gas engine and other industries. Our Hodge Foundry location began operation in 1876 and built a reputation for quality casting from its Greenville, Pennsylvania location. The two foundries joined to form a single company in 2008, which is today known as Elyria Foundry. We are a fast-paced, technically advanced, customer-focused operation creating high-quality, American-made products and we’re looking for individuals who are eager to learn and contribute to the Team!

Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age or older
• 1+ years of Lab experience preferred
• Strong attention to detail
• Basic math skills (add, subtract, multiple, divide) can use calculator
• Ability to read dials and record readings
• Basic computer skills
• Ability to work independently
• Effective communication skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, physical, and industrial environment
• Time management through performing multiple operations simultaneously
• Ability to follow work instructions and desire to learn

Nice To Haves

• HS Diploma or GED preferred

Responsibilities

• Collect and prepare sand samples from sand mixers, and run analysis
• Report /record test results and communicate as required
• Test molding and core sand properties to prevent defects
• Monitor and control sand transportation systems
• Calibrate, standardize and perform routine maintenance on mixers and lab equipment
• Operate tow motor and other mobile equipment as needed
• Keep workstation and surrounding work areas clean and organized
• Perform other duties as assigned
