About The Position

This position is responsible for unpacking environmental samples received at the laboratory, recording sample temperatures, documenting any discrepancies, organizing samples by project onto carts, and transferring samples to the Sample Registration area for entry. The role requires adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), regular attendance, and punctuality. The technician will compare sample containers against client paperwork, note any discrepancies, and organize samples on carts according to the paperwork. They will also take and record the temperature of all environmental samples and chilled pharmaceutical samples, inform Sample Registration of any temperature or damage issues, and notify them of short holding time or rush samples. Cleaning coolers and kits for return shipments and filling out shipping slips are also part of the duties. The role involves reading and understanding Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), following safety precautions, and assisting in Sample Registration with labeling and filing, as well as assisting in Bottles Prep with preserving or preparing bottle orders. All activities must be conducted safely and efficiently. The position also includes other assigned duties.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. frequently, and stand/walk for a full shift
  • Basic computer skills
  • Professional working proficiency in English is a requirement, including the ability to read, write and speak in English.
  • Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship

Responsibilities

  • Unpack sample kits and coolers that are received at the lab
  • Compare sample containers against client paperwork, documenting any discrepancies, lining up samples on cart according to client paperwork
  • Take and record the temperature of all environmental samples and chilled pharmaceutical samples received at the lab
  • Inform Sample Registration of projects received above temperature or with excessive damage
  • Notify Sample Registration of receipt of short holding time or rush samples when necessary
  • Clean all coolers and kits to be returned to clients or to bottle room, fill out shipping slips for return shipments
  • Read, understand, and carry out SOPs; follow all safety precautions and procedures
  • Assist as needed in Sample Registration with labeling, filing, etc.
  • Assist as needed in Bottles Prep with preserving or preparing bottle orders
  • Conducts all activities in a safe and efficient manner
  • Performs other duties as assigned
