We’re searching for a motivated Sample Preparation Technician to support our second shift Organics team in Reading, PA. In this role, you’ll be actively engaged in daily laboratory operations, supporting critical testing through sample preparation, analytical testing, and accurate documentation within the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS). You’ll work hands-on with laboratory instrumentation, contribute to quality and compliance initiatives, and help maintain a safe, efficient, and well-organized laboratory environment. This position offers the opportunity to strengthen technical expertise, collaborate with an experienced team, and directly contribute to reliable, high-quality results that support essential laboratory operations. Please note: This position follows a 2nd shift schedule Monday - Friday from 2 PM - 10:30 PM EST with a monthly Sunday rotation.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Proven experience working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment (e.g., restaurant, line work, warehouse, or production setting)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Ability to thrive in a high-volume, fast-paced environment while efficiently managing and processing large quantities of samples with speed and accuracy
  • Sharp attention to detail with disciplined execution in structured, process-driven work
  • Proven ability to multitask, task-switch quickly, and manage competing priorities without losing momentum or quality
  • Strong personal organization and workflow control to stay efficient and on pace throughout the shift
  • Fast-learning mindset with the ability to quickly master new systems, processes, and procedural requirements
  • Strong problem-solving instincts with the ability to spot discrepancies, troubleshoot issues, and take action in real time
  • Ability to maintain composure under pressure with a strong sense of urgency and follow-through
  • Clear, effective communication skills to coordinate seamlessly with a high-throughput team

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science or related area strongly preferred
  • Previous hands-on experience in a professional or academic lab setting is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Perform sample preparation in accordance with approved methods, SOPs, and quality standards
  • Operate, calibrate, troubleshoot, and perform routine maintenance on laboratory instrumentation to ensure accuracy and reliability
  • Accurately document results within the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) or other designated systems
  • Maintain compliance with Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and support the quality management system by participating in audits, corrective actions, and ongoing process improvements
  • Assist with general housekeeping, inventory management, and cross-training as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned
