About The Position

Within the Sample Preparation Department, the Sample Preparation Technician will work with client samples and prepare them for analysis in our labs. The Sample Prep Technician is the starting point of the testing workflow, your work ensures every samples is prepared with precision so our clients receive fast, reliable results that drive important decisions across mining, environment science and industry.

Requirements

• Strong hand eye coordination and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Basic alphanumeric comprehension
• Basic English communication (written and verbal)
• Good Organizational habits and reliability
• Ability to lift up to 50lbs
• Manual dexterity for repetitive tasks
• Ability to stand for a full shift
• Ability to be clean shaven to ensure proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) fit
• Ability to wear PPE such as dust masks and gloves
• Occasional desk-based tasks
• Must be a Citizen or Permanent Resident of the country you are applying for, or either hold or be able to obtain, a valid working visa.

Responsibilities

• Ringing, sieving (including International Soils), crushing, splitting under direct supervision
• Loading and unloading drying ovens under supervision
• Maintain own production logs
• General cleaning duties for basic lab cleanliness
• May assists with layout duties/tasks
• Use correct methods in accordance with the established procedures and schedules while ensuring analytical quality
• Observe established safety regulations and comply with all ALS health and safety policies and procedures
• Other duties as assigned
