About The Position

In this role, you will report to the Territory Area Manager and will work closely with the Avantor’s Advanced Laboratory Services professionals to serve our customers by performing customized, mission-based lab work and research protocols that help return time back to science.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Minimum 2 years in customer service, inventory replenishment, or material handling
  • 2–3+ years of experience in a laboratory environment, including sample handling and equipment operation
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage large sample volumes
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and self-manage in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and customers
  • Professional, customer-facing demeanor with excellent customer service skills
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and strict adherence to protocols, policies, and procedures
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate retain materials, including receiving, ordering, tracking inventory, and dispatching materials across internal teams
  • Manage high-volume frozen materials requiring immediate attention, ensuring proper handling and storage on dry ice
  • Label, codex, and barcode samples (processing batches of 500+ at a time); ensure approximately 2M samples remain frozen and fully traceable throughout all stages
  • Store materials in designated freezer locations aligned to specific research requirements
  • Monitor inventory levels closely and proactively communicate supply needs; place and receive orders promptly
  • Partner and communicate effectively with onsite teams regarding materials, inventory, and workflow status
  • Follow all PPE requirements and adhere strictly to procedures related to retain materials (RM’s)
  • Execute workflows, including vial checking, weighing, and solution preparation from dry powders
  • Aliquot solutions into appropriate containers (tubes, vials, plates) based on assay requirements; label and distribute to stakeholders
  • Archive compounds, vials, and solution tubes in accordance with inventory management SOPs
  • Prepare domestic and international shipments in compliance with SOPs and regulatory guidelines
  • Manage import/export of samples in alignment with trade compliance requirements
  • Receive incoming shipments, log into internal systems, store under appropriate conditions, and notify recipients
  • Support high-volume incoming retains daily and frequent outgoing shipments weekly
  • Operate, maintain, and calibrate laboratory equipment (balances, automated storage systems, liquid handling devices)
  • Maintain laboratory notebooks, testing records, and worksheets in accordance with established procedures
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
