About The Position

Lovelace Biomedical is seeking a full-time individual to work collaboratively with the scientific team members to lead and assist with various projects supporting the sample collection, handling, chain of custody, management, storage, and transfer of samples. This position plays a pivotal role within our contract research organization. The role will interface with cross-functional departments in support of quality control functions. The sample management technician will oversee sample logistics for internal and external transfers, support data management, and sample inventories. Proactively communicates sample status, issues, and actions to appropriate parties. Adheres to all Environmental Health and Safety policies, procedures, and guidelines.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2 years' experience in a research or laboratory setting; or an equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been attained.
  • Computer based document editing skills required.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to learn department-specific computer systems as needed.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Valid driver’s license, proof of insurance, and background check (due to location on Kirtland Air Force Base).
