This is a fully onsite role based at our GMP Laboratory in Middleton, WI. We welcome applicants from all locations within the US. Requirements

  • Previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to 0 to 5 years).
  • High / Secondary school diploma or equivalent and relevant formal academic / vocational qualification
  • 1+ year of leadership responsibility
  • In some cases an equivalency, consisting of a combination of appropriate education, training and/or directly related experience, will be considered sufficient for an individual to meet the requirements of the role.
  • Good organizational skills with the ability to adapt and adjust to changing priorities and to manage multiple assignments with challenging deadlines
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage others
  • Ability to train, mentor and motivate junior staff
  • Ability to effectively interact with outside vendors and internal and external customers
  • Good written and oral communication skills as well as presentation skills
  • Competent with computers and enterprise applications
  • Good problem solving and critical thinking skills to support quality decision making
  • Demonstrated compliance with procedures and policies
  • Positive attitude and ability to work in a collaborative team environment

Responsibilities

  • Manages the day-to-day activities of staff within a section or department, which may include interviewing and selection, goal setting, performance management, coaching and mentoring.
  • Creates work schedules and assignments and trains staff and assesses competence.
  • Reviews and approves time records, requests for leave, overtime.
  • Monitors performance metrics for quality and productivity and recommends process improvement and efficiency gains.
  • Investigates and resolves problems.
  • Participates in audits and general capabilities department tours.
  • Participates in on-call responsibilities.
  • Responds to client questions and needs, coordinates client communication.
  • Assists and acts as back-up to management, when needed.
  • Assists in preparation and implementation of PPD/client SOPs and company operational policies.
  • Ensures adherence to SOPs, safety standards and company policies.
