About The Position

The Sample Login Technician processes customer samples and ensures protocols are followed for sample receipt and handling. The role includes notifying customers about issues with submitted samples, entering and approving samples in a LIMS database, and helping maintain laboratory conditions, records, and supplies. The technician follows FSNS policies and customer requirements while supporting safe, efficient, and customer-focused laboratory operations.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Basic knowledge of testing laboratory concepts and practices.
• Ability to operate a computer keyboard and mouse and handle other communications and computer components.
• Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
• Color vision and depth perception.
• Overnight travel may be required at management’s discretion.

Nice To Haves

• Training in general laboratory practices.
• One or more years of experience in a commercial food-testing laboratory.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Receive, prepare, and set up samples for analysis.
• Enter data, select analyses, and log and approve samples using a LIMS database on a Windows workstation.
• Process and maintain client samples at the correct temperatures.
• Segregate samples according to FSNS procedures.
• Assist with shipping customer supplies, including return coolers.
• Communicate with clients to clarify orders as needed and notify them of sample issues.
• Follow assigned processes, procedures, and techniques in accordance with FSNS policies and customer requirements.
• Maintain laboratory conditions, equipment, supplies, quality assurance programs, and accurate records.
• Perform activities in a neat, safe, hygienic, and efficient manner.
• Share information promptly and openly while maintaining customer satisfaction.
• Help manage priorities and schedules to achieve individual and team goals.
• Be responsible for personal and coworker safety within the work area.
• Complete required training.
