Sample Collector / Phlebotomist (Ad Hoc)
About The Position
Eurofins Forensic Services (EFS) is seeking a Sample Collector / Phlebotomist to join their Sample Collections team in Worcester and surrounding areas on an AD HOC/casual basis. The role involves attending pre-booked appointments at various locations, generally within a 2-hour radius of the candidate's home address, to provide a professional hair, nail, blood, and DNA sample collection service. The successful candidate will act as the public face of Lextox, maintaining excellent client and donor relationships, implementing the company's Quality Management System, ensuring safe collection procedures, and providing statements for legal proceedings. Initial training will be provided at the Lextox office, but the role is ultimately home-based. Successful applicants will be paid per collection, plus travel expenses. PPE will be provided, and Hepatitis B vaccination is required for blood sample collection.
Requirements
- Professionally qualified Phlebotomists
- Recent experience in various venepuncture techniques (predominately vacutainer and butterfly)
- Able to collect samples in non-clinical settings
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Full UK Driving Licence
- MUST have own access to a vehicle with business insurance
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience in Phlebotomy, post qualification (proof of Phlebotomy competency may be requested)
- This role is subject to regular enhanced DBS checks.
Nice To Haves
- Experience in working within the NHS / Blood Service
- Experience in collecting hair and DNA samples (in-house training is provided for this aspect of the role)
Responsibilities
- Attending pre booked appointments at various locations which will generally be within a 2 hour radius from your home address.

- Maintain and develop excellent relationships with clients, donors as the public face of Lextox.
- Implement the requirements of the company Quality management System and help maintain ISO17025 accreditation.
- Ensure that all collections are undertaken safely following the required operating procedure.
- Provide statements to support legal proceedings at point of sample collection.
- Completion of all company mandated training.
