About The Position

Bechtel is building a semiconductor manufacturing plant in New Albany, Ohio. Bechtel will design and build Phase 1 of the Ohio One project, a total of 2.5 million square feet, including 600,000 square feet of cleanrooms. Construction will require as much steel as eight Eiffel Towers and as much concrete as the tallest skyscrapers. There will be over 4,000 modules to be fabricated, erected and tested in FAB building alone. Bechtel will strengthen future economic development in the region by partnering with the North America Building Trades Unions and suppliers to create several thousand new jobs and work with local education organizations to implement new training programs that will support the future talent pipeline.

Requirements

  • University/BS degree in Mechanical Engineering or Civil Engineering with 0-1 year of field construction related experience is desired, or 4-5 years of relevant industry experience
  • Understanding of applicable Bechtel work processes including Standard Work Process Procedures is preferred,
  • Familiarity with Bechtel Standard Applications (BSAPs) including ACONEX, TEAMWorks, Bechtel Productivity System, PTR, eSub and other automation tools which are used on Bechtel projects is an asset.
  • Computer literate in word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.
  • Understanding of applicable industry codes and standards.
  • Eagerness and willingness to learn aspects of structural and mechanical field engineering systems.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates receipt, inspection, preservation, laydown, and readiness verification of module components and prefabricated assemblies arriving at the project site.
  • Works closely with discipline lead field engineers to support site preassembly of structural steel, piping, mechanical equipment, electrical components, HVAC systems, fire protection systems, and other module-related assemblies.
  • Review drawings, specifications, BIM models, installation work packages, and construction work plans to ensure preassembly activities are executed in accordance with engineering requirements.
  • Assists in identifying and resolving constructability issues, material discrepancies, dimensional conflicts, design clarifications, and field interferences prior to module installation.
  • Coordinates field changes, RFIs, technical queries, and engineering support requests necessary to maintain uninterrupted execution of preassembly activities.
  • Supports quality inspections, ITRs, testing requirements, punch list development, and completion documentation associated with preassembled systems and equipment.
  • Monitor subcontractor and direct-hire work activities to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, quality requirements, and project safety standards.
