Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of production experience in a manufacturing environment, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read, understand, and follow batch sheets, recipes, work instructions, and safety procedures.
  • Ability to accurately measure, weigh, and document production data.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to safely operate production equipment.
  • Ability to safely operate or learn to operate material handling equipment, including forklifts and pallet jacks.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality and food safety.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment that includes exposure to noise, wet conditions, moving machinery, and varying temperatures.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb, reach, and use hands continuously throughout the shift.
  • Ability to lift and move materials up to 50 pounds independently and up to 100 pounds with assistance.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous food manufacturing or food processing experience.
  • Forklift certification or experience operating powered industrial trucks.
  • Experience performing equipment changeovers and preventative maintenance activities.
  • Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), food safety standards, and sanitation procedures.
  • Experience working with batch processing systems and production documentation.
  • Understanding of seasoning systems, oil management systems, or heat exchanger operations.
  • Familiarity with continuous improvement methodologies such as 5S or Lean Manufacturing principles.

Responsibilities

  • Operate processing equipment to produce products that meet established quality, food safety, and production standards.
  • Properly mix ingredients, monitor temperatures and moisture levels, and make process adjustments as needed.
  • Read and follow batch sheets, recipes, and production specifications, including accurately weighing raw materials.
  • Monitor and record temperatures, mix times, item numbers, raw material weights, and product specifications.
  • Identify, remove, and report products that do not meet quality standards.
  • Communicate and escalate quality, safety, or operational concerns to appropriate team members.
  • Perform equipment start-up, shutdown, changeovers, and basic preventative maintenance activities in accordance with established procedures.
  • Monitor for potential foreign material contamination and support food safety initiatives.
  • Follow sanitation and cleaning procedures, including proper chemical handling during cleanups and changeovers.
  • Track, manage, and properly dispose of production waste.
  • Move, receive, unload, and stage raw materials using material handling equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks.
  • Maintain appropriate raw material inventory levels and communicate material needs to relevant personnel.
  • Manage inventory usage and ensure the safe handling, storage, and disposal of cutter blades while maintaining Urschel Heads for efficient operation.
  • Receive, test, treat, filter, and monitor oil used in processing equipment and maintain proper oil levels.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of heat exchanger systems.
  • Monitor seasoning application and make adjustments as needed, when applicable.
  • Follow all safety, hygiene, housekeeping, and 5S practices, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Keep work areas clean, organized, and free of hazards and obstructions.
  • Report equipment issues, unsafe conditions, and workplace injuries promptly.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
