About The Position

The Salt Stack Infrastructure Automation Engineer will design, implement, and manage automation solutions that streamline and secure infrastructure across hybrid cloud environments. You will collaborate closely with DevOps, SRE, and application teams to build scalable, reusable SaltStack states, pillars, and orchestration workflows. This role requires expertise in Linux systems, cloud platforms, and CI/CD pipelines, ensuring reliable, repeatable, and secure deployment processes. You will troubleshoot and optimize automation performance, maintain comprehensive documentation, and support cloud and containerized environments. Operating in a fast-paced technology environment, you will directly influence operational efficiency and the delivery of high-quality infrastructure services. This position offers the opportunity to lead infrastructure automation initiatives and make a measurable impact on platform scalability and reliability.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in infrastructure automation or DevOps roles
  • 5+ years hands-on experience with SaltStack
  • Strong Linux system administration skills (RHEL/CentOS/Ubuntu)
  • Proficiency in Python, Bash, and YAML scripting
  • Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps
  • Git-based source control expertise
  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
  • Knowledge of containerization and orchestration technologies, including Docker and Kubernetes
  • Strong problem-solving, multitasking, and communication skills; able to work independently and lead initiatives

Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and optimize SaltStack automation including states, pillars, and orchestration workflows
  • Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, and compliance processes
  • Build reusable Salt formulas, custom modules, and integrate automation with CI/CD pipelines
  • Manage and support Linux systems (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu) across hybrid cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
  • Implement security hardening and ensure compliance automation across environments
  • Troubleshoot automation failures, optimize performance, and maintain operational runbooks and documentation
  • Collaborate with DevOps, SRE, and application teams to ensure seamless infrastructure deployment and scaling
