About The Position

This role is ideal for an experienced infrastructure automation professional who thrives in a dynamic, cloud-driven environment. The Salt Stack Infrastructure Automation Engineer will design, implement, and maintain automation solutions across hybrid cloud platforms, enabling scalable, secure, and reliable infrastructure. You will collaborate closely with DevOps, SRE, and application teams to streamline provisioning, configuration management, and compliance automation. This position offers the opportunity to optimize infrastructure operations, contribute to CI/CD pipelines, and apply innovative solutions that improve operational efficiency. It is a fully remote role with a focus on technical excellence, problem-solving, and hands-on delivery in fast-paced environments.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of professional experience in Infrastructure Automation / DevOps.
  • 5+ years hands-on experience with SaltStack.
  • Strong Linux administration skills across multiple distributions.
  • Proficiency in Python, Bash, and YAML scripting.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps.
  • Familiarity with Git-based source control and version management.
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Strong problem-solving, multitasking, and communication skills, with the ability to work independently.
  • Motivated, proactive, and able to contribute to a collaborative, results-driven environment.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and optimize SaltStack automation, including States, Pillars, and Orchestration.
  • Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration management across Linux systems and cloud environments.
  • Build reusable Salt formulas, custom modules, and integrate automation into CI/CD pipelines.
  • Support and manage Linux systems (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu) and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Implement security hardening, compliance automation, and troubleshoot automation failures.
  • Document automation frameworks, operational runbooks, and best practices for ongoing team use.
  • Collaborate with DevOps, SRE, and application teams to ensure seamless automation and system reliability.
