About The Position

We are a premier global alternative asset manager and financial services platform dedicated to transforming the landscape of modern finance. By integrating institutional-grade rigor with cutting-edge technology, we provide secure, scalable infrastructure for a diverse range of asset classes, including digital assets and alternative investments. Our organization is currently evolving into an AI-first firm, embedding artificial intelligence across every layer of our business to accelerate innovation and unlock new investment capabilities. What’s the role? As a foundational member of the Infrastructure Engineering team, you will bridge the gap between traditional networking and modern software-driven operations. You aren't just "maintaining" servers; you are the architect of an automated ecosystem. Currently, data center environments are managed by a small, elite team. You will be the primary lead for Systems and Automation, with the unique opportunity to build a dedicated team around you as we migrate from legacy stacks to a cutting-edge, Bare Metal and Kubernetes-heavy architecture.

Requirements

  • Experience: 3–5+ years in Systems or Infrastructure Engineering within production environments.
  • Automation-First Mindset: Proficiency in Python, Ansible, and Terraform to solve complex infrastructure problems.
  • Virtualization Expertise: Proven experience with VMware and a strong desire to migrate workloads to modern alternatives (MAAS, Bare Metal, etc.).
  • Containerization: Deep operational knowledge of Kubernetes and Docker, specifically in an on-prem capacity.
  • The "Engineers Engineer": You treat infrastructure as software—focusing on modularity, linting, and GitOps workflows.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Zabbix at scale, SRE-focused monitoring, and hybrid cloud integration.

Responsibilities

  • Architect Infrastructure-as-Code: Design and operate on-prem compute environments across global data centers using Terraform and Ansible .
  • Modernize the Stack: Lead the strategic migration of our fleet away from VMware toward Bare Metal provisioning and self-hosted orchestration.
  • Master Kubernetes: Own the on-prem K8s compute focus, ensuring orchestration is seamless, scalable, and self-hosted.
  • Engineering Rigor: Apply software engineering principles (CI/CD, version control, idempotent workflows, and testing) to infrastructure packaging and deployment.
  • Operational Excellence: Manage Zabbix for large-scale observability and work closely with developers to troubleshoot logs and optimize system performance.
  • Global Oversight: Manage the fleet across 34 sites, balancing 7 VMware-based locations with a rapidly growing Bare Metal footprint.

Benefits

  • Competitive Compensation: Robust salary and performance-based incentive programs.
  • Comprehensive Health: Premium medical, dental, and vision coverage.
  • Future Planning: Retirement savings plans with company contributions.
  • In-Office Perks: A collaborative, high-energy workspace in the heart of NYC with catered amenities and team events.
