About The Position

A Customer Experience Host (CEH) is one of the most important and rewarding positions in our salons. They are the heartbeat of the experience at Sharkey's, the friendly face families remember, and the person who can transform a simple haircut into a special memory. The CEH ensures that from check-in to goodbye, every family feels seen, cared for, and welcomed back.

Requirements

  • Must be able to manage entertainment, including turning on cartoons or games.
  • Must be able to comfort children using humor, toys, and treats.
  • Must be able to engage parents with care and respect.
  • Must be able to maintain salon cleanliness, including tidying up hair, cups, waiting areas, and bathrooms.
  • Must be able to restock essentials like balloons and lollipops.
  • Must be able to support stylists.
  • Must be able to answer phones, check voicemail, and call customers back.
  • Must be able to manage the appointment book.
  • Must be able to check customers in and out.
  • Must be able to handle high volume situations calmly and cheerfully.
  • Must be able to prioritize tidiness and guest flow.
  • Must be able to maintain communication with stylists.
  • Must be able to celebrate post-cut achievements.
  • Must be able to compliment new looks.
  • Must be able to offer balloons and lollipops.
  • Must be able to give high-fives and tattoos (if permitted).

Responsibilities

  • Greeting guests warmly.
  • Managing Entertainment: Turn on cartoons or games upon approval of the patents; Offer chairs and cartoons for siblings if space allows; Comfort kids – 'A happy, distracted child' results in a smoother haircut; Use humor, toys, treats etc. to calm nervous kids; Engaging Parents with Care and Respect; offering treats and balloons at the end of the service.
  • Cleanliness: Keeping the salon tidy and spotless; Tidy up hair, cups, waiting areas, and bathrooms. Restock essentials like balloons and lollipops.
  • Supporting stylists; and being the emotional center of the salon
  • Answering phones, checking voicemail messages and calling customers back, managing appointment book, Check Customers in and out.
  • Handling High Volume with Grace: Stay calm and cheerful; Greet warmly but briefly; Prioritize tidiness and guest flow; Keep communication going with stylists.
  • Creating a Rockstar Finish: Celebrate Post-Cut achievement - Every child deserves a celebration. Compliment their new look - Offer a balloon - Quietly ask parent if lollipop is okay. Give high-fives and Shark's Tattoo, if permitted. Always send them off with a smile.
