About The Position

The Salon Business Consultant is a consulting and relationship-building specialist role responsible for covering and growing a territory in and around Idaho Falls, Rexburg, Twin Falls, Pocatello, Ammon, Blackfoot Idaho (ID), and Jackson Wisconsin (WI). The ideal candidate would reside in or very near Idaho Falls, Rexburg, or Twin Falls, Idaho. This is a full-time career opportunity offering uncapped commission, a vehicle reimbursement plan, and full benefits. Salon/Beauty Industry experience is highly preferred.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent certification.
  • Minimum of (1) year demonstrated outside sales experience or beauty industry experience with emphasis on consultative selling.
  • Must live within the assigned territory.
  • Excellent knowledge and experience using Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram and other social media platforms to build pipelines, books of business, and other business needs.
  • Excellent computer skills, knowledge of salesforce.com, Outlook, PDF Expert, and Oracle.
  • Ability to build an online community and create social connections, including but not limited to, using search engines and other internet tools.
  • This position requires travel on a local level within the territory.
  • It also requires attendance at shows, conventions, and educational events which may include overnight travel and/or some weekend nights.
  • Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and a safe manner.
  • Frequent and sometimes prolonged periods of driving are necessary for this role.
  • Committed to working scheduled hours and has the flexibility to work additional hours based on changing business needs.
  • Strong time management and organization skills and the ability to successfully manage multiple projects at once.
  • Ability to present a professional business image and interact positively with the public.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing, at all levels within and outside the organization.

Nice To Haves

  • Salon/Beauty Industry experience highly preferred
  • Working knowledge of inventory control systems and visual merchandising is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with iPad a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Identify key accounts within territory and establish an efficient route to grow and develop existing customers while seeking new partnerships.
  • Demonstrate and assist customers in planning, implementing, and tracking in-salon promotions, programs, and concepts.
  • Determine customer needs and offer appropriate products and services.
  • Communicate all sales initiatives and achieve corporate sales goals monthly, quarterly, and annually.
  • Respond to all email, text, and phone communication within 24 hours.
  • Analyze accounts to determine necessary brand support, education, and promotions.
  • Conduct in-person customer visits to execute sales goals.
  • Process returns according to established procedures, including pick-up and required documentation.
  • Collaborate with customer service, accounts receivable, IT, and other necessary business functions.
  • Actively prospect for new customers through cold calling, social media, and other digital outlets.
  • Manage administrative aspects of the role, including daily order entry and maintaining customer information in salesforce.com.
  • Utilize social media for communication, promotion, education, and product knowledge to attract and retain salon clientele.
  • Conduct effective in-person and virtual product knowledge classes.
  • Communicate with the Manager regarding calls, visits, orders, sales progress, follow-up plans, and assistance needed.
  • Share expertise on utilizing digital platforms and social media with peers to enhance the team's digital capabilities.
  • Attend all meetings, functions, and events, maintaining regular contact as established by the Company or Supervisor.
  • Be available to attend shows, participate in display setup/dismantling, handle back stock, and perform other required physical activities.
  • Support new initiatives with a growth mindset and foster change management.
  • Exhibit a desire to learn and grow, striving for continuous improvement and owning personal development.
  • Schedule and attend business development days (BDD) to increase product knowledge and develop vendor relationships.
  • Optimize time to participate in learning using all available tools and resources.
  • Remain agile to market changes, building industry knowledge and intuition to react to a competitive market.
  • Actively work to increase own product, industry, and market knowledge.
  • Create an organized work environment and workflow for efficient customer service.
