About The Position

Sammons Financial Group is seeking a Salesforce Solution Architect to provide architecture leadership for our Salesforce ecosystem within Shared Services Enterprise Applications, with a primary focus on Financial Services Cloud (FSC) and Service Cloud. This role defines the organization-level solution direction for Salesforce-enabled capabilities and ensures solutions are scalable, secure, integration-driven, and aligned with divisional technology strategy. You will partner closely with business leaders, engineering managers, System Architects, and a peer Salesforce Solution Architect to shape the future of our Salesforce platform. While primarily focused on organizational Salesforce strategy, this role will collaborate with Principal and other IT business unit Architect peers to align with broader standards and long-term platform direction. This is a senior individual contributor role with significant cross-team influence.

Requirements

  • Minimum 12 years' IT architecture and development experience Required
  • Experience as System Architect on complex multi-subsystem solution delivery teams Required
  • Knowledge/expert in computer programming languages Required
  • Effective communications skills (verbal, written, and presentation) and ability to communicate with business partners and other IT staff required
  • Skills in using required architecture, design, and development tools required
  • Problem solving skills sufficient to identify opportunities, perform research and recommend a proposed solution to problems
  • Able to work on multiple tasks and meet established deadlines
  • Able to effectively influence the work of other team members without having HR management responsibility for them
  • Strong experience with: Salesforce Financial Services Cloud and Service Cloud, MuleSoft and API-led integration architecture, Event-driven architecture (Platform Events, CDC), Zero-copy and data virtualization integration strategies, Data modeling and governance in regulated environments, Identity, access, and security architecture, CI/CD and DevOps practices for cloud platforms

Responsibilities

  • Own end-to-end solution architecture for Salesforce-enabled capabilities across FSC and Service Cloud.
  • Translate business objectives into scalable designs across application, integration, data, and security domains.
  • Develop and maintain architectural artifacts including context diagrams, integration flows, data models, and security patterns.
  • Ensure alignment with divisional roadmaps and enterprise guardrails.
  • Define integration strategies between Salesforce and core enterprise systems (policy administration, document management, digital portals, messaging frameworks, contact center platforms).
  • Architect and guide use of: o MuleSoft and API-led connectivity patterns o Zero-copy data integration strategies o Change Data Capture (CDC) o Platform Events and event-driven architecture o Asynchronous processing and scalable API patterns
  • Ensure data consistency, resiliency, and observability across integrated systems.
  • Promote reusable integration patterns and reduce point-to-point technical debt.
  • Contribute to roadmap planning for Salesforce Financial Services Cloud and related platform capabilities.
  • Guide architecture decisions involving Salesforce Data 360 (formerly Data Cloud), customer data unification, and advanced segmentation.
  • Evaluate architectural impact of new Salesforce capabilities including Agentforce and emerging AI-driven features.
  • Partner with data and enterprise teams to ensure proper governance, data lifecycle management, and regulatory compliance.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders supporting customer service, agent onboarding, compliance, and corporate capabilities.
  • Provide architectural options, tradeoff analysis, and risk assessments for new initiatives.
  • Balance delivery velocity with long-term platform sustainability and integration integrity.
  • Conduct solution-level architecture reviews.
  • Guide and mentor Salesforce System Architects and technical leads.
  • Drive consistency in integration, automation, security, and data patterns.
  • Identify and reduce technology debt within the Salesforce ecosystem.
