About The Position

As a Salesforce Lead Developer of Application Development, you will play a crucial role in managing the day-to-day technical aspects of our software development projects in our Consumer Service and Support instance of Salesforce at Scotts Miracle-Gro. This position requires a hands-on approach to SFDC solution design, project delivery, platform maintenance, and technical oversight. Preference to individuals with experience and background in design, build, and support of Sales/Service Cloud and Consumer Goods Cloud implementations.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of hands-on Salesforce development experience, including working with complex projects and multi-cloud Salesforce environments.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Strong experience with Salesforce customization and configuration, including Service Cloud at minimum and one of the following modules: Sales Cloud, Consumer Goods Cloud, Agentforce, Data Cloud.
  • Proficient in Salesforce development tools, including Apex, Visualforce, Lightning Web Components (LWC), Flows, Triggers, Scheduled and Batch classes, and more.
  • Proven experience in integrating Salesforce with external systems using REST, SOAP APIs, OAuth, and Single Sign-On.
  • Knowledge of the Product Development Lifecycle and familiarity with DevOps tools.
  • Solid understanding of the Salesforce Deployment process, including best practices.
  • Ability to thrive in an Agile, collaborative environment, and manage task assignments within agile frameworks.

Nice To Haves

  • Strong preference for candidates who hold Salesforce certifications such as Certified Platform Developer I & II, Certified Administrator, and Certified Advanced Administrator.
  • A strong preference for candidates with experience in Application and/or Technical Architecture Certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Take an active role in the development process by contributing to complex Salesforce issues, requiring expertise in both Apex and front-end Lightning Web Components (LWC).
  • Design and build Salesforce solutions that integrate with various Salesforce clouds (Service Cloud, Consumer Goods Cloud, and Knowledge).
  • Develop Salesforce solutions from configuration to customization, utilizing tools such as Apex, Flow Automation, Triggers, Visualforce, and Lightning Web Components.
  • Participate in daily scrum meetings, analyze and assign user stories, and identify/resolve gaps in functional requirements and business user stories.
  • Work closely with Product Owners to understand acceptance criteria and document technical approaches and designs as needed.
  • Automate business processes using Salesforce automation tools, including Flows, Formulas, Assignment Rules, and Email Alerts.
  • Build integrations between Salesforce and external systems using REST, SOAP APIs, OAuth, and Single Sign-On.
  • Manage data updates and migrations using Data Loader and similar tools.
  • Manages the code review process, writes unit/integration tests, and ensures high, overall test coverage.
  • Effectively debugs and resolves defects or issues, particularly in production environments.
  • Proven leadership as a lead developer; mentors and guides junior development team members, providing technical expertise and support.
  • Investigates complex issues independently and clearly communicates solutions and findings.
