Salesforce Commerce Cloud (SFCC) Architect

Concord USAMultiple Cities/States, CA
Remote

About The Position

Concord isn't your typical consulting firm; we are an execution company with a passion for making things happen. Our mission is to help clients enhance customer experiences, optimize operations, and revolutionize their product offerings through seamless integration, optimization, and activation of technology and data. We are purpose-built, merging the industry’s top specialty companies to amplify our Innovation Capabilities in analytics & AI, data management & engineering, UX and digital experience, and technical platform integration, automation & security engineering. We are looking for a seasoned Full Stack Architect with deep expertise in Salesforce Commerce Cloud (SFCC) to join a high-impact digital commerce engagement. You'll be working at the architecture level — designing scalable, performant solutions and guiding technical direction across the full stack. This is a remote-first role open to candidates across the United States.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of full-stack development experience, with at least 3+ years in an architect-level role.
  • Deep hands-on expertise with Salesforce Commerce Cloud (SFCC / Demandware), including cartridge development, OCAPI/SCAPI, and Business Manager.
  • Strong front-end proficiency: JavaScript, React or similar frameworks, HTML5/CSS3.
  • Solid back-end skills: Node.js, REST/GraphQL API design, microservices architecture.
  • Experience working in retail, CPG, or e-commerce domains — understanding of merchandising, catalog management, promotions, and checkout flows.
  • Strong grasp of cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and DevOps practices.
  • Hands-on experience using Claude (Anthropic) in a development context — prompt engineering, API integration, AI-assisted coding workflows, or building internal tools powered by Claude.
  • Salesforce B2C Commerce Developer certification or other relevant certifications.
  • Technically fluent but able to communicate clearly in business terms — comfortable presenting architecture decisions to both engineering teams and executive stakeholders.
  • Strategic thinker who operates well in high-stakes environments and can drive clarity.
  • Collaborative leader who thrives in building alignment across cross-functional teams.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience building or migrating to PWA Kit (SFCC's Progressive Web App framework) or comparable headless commerce PWA implementations — this is a strong differentiator.
  • Retail industry background: familiarity with inventory systems, OMS integrations, loyalty platforms, or POS connectivity.
  • Familiarity with composable/headless commerce architecture (e.g., MACH principles).

Responsibilities

  • Architect and lead development of enterprise-scale e-commerce solutions on Salesforce Commerce Cloud (SFCC/Demandware).
  • Design front-end and back-end systems with a focus on performance, scalability, and maintainability.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, product owners, and engineering teams to translate requirements into technical architecture.
  • Define and enforce best practices across the development lifecycle, including code reviews, CI/CD pipelines, and testing standards.
  • Evaluate and integrate third-party services, APIs, and headless/composable commerce patterns.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to development teams.
  • Leverage AI-assisted development tools — including Claude — to accelerate delivery and improve engineering quality.

  • Health, Dental, and Vision Insurance: Comprehensive coverage to support your overall well-being.
  • Employer Contributions to Health Savings Accounts (HSA): For employees enrolled in High Deductible Health Plans, Concord contributes toward your HSA.
