About The Position

God’s Love has recently transitioned its client, production, and delivery management system to Salesforce. To ensure the long-term health of this platform, there is a need to insource the overall technical vision, architecture, and strategy. The Salesforce Architect will be responsible for the short and long-term roadmaps of the organization’s Salesforce platform, ensuring it effectively supports service delivery, production, inventory, and CRM needs while remaining scalable, secure, and aligned with the mission of God’s Love. This role will supervise the existing Salesforce Administrator and collaborate with Systems and Organizational Leadership and Department Leads to translate business needs into sustainable technical solutions. The Salesforce Architect will own platform design, complex integrations, data architecture, and governance. God’s Love utilizes Non-Profit Cloud, Field Service Lightning, Goldfinch Cloud Solutions, and Formstack. The organization is a HIPAA Covered Entity and complies with HIPAA and related security standards.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of hands-on Salesforce experience, including architecture or senior technical roles.
  • Proven experience designing complex Salesforce solutions beyond basic configuration.
  • Deep understanding of Salesforce data modeling and security.
  • Deep understanding of declarative automation (Flow).
  • Deep understanding of programmatic capabilities (Apex, SOQL) at an architectural level.
  • Deep understanding of integration patterns and APIs.
  • Ability to leverage tools to review and analyze Apex code, and to make recommendations for improvement.
  • Strong ability to translate business needs into technical designs.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Nice To Haves

  • Hands-on experience with Salesforce Nonprofit Cloud.
  • Experience with at least one Salesforce industry cloud/vertical, such as Health Cloud, Financial Services Cloud, Public Sector Solutions or Marketing Cloud, with the ability to translate industry best practices into a nonprofit context.
  • Experience taking ownership of Salesforce implementations post-launch, including stabilization, optimization, and long-term platform stewardship.
  • Salesforce Architect certifications (e.g., Application Architect, System Architect, or domain-specific certs).
  • Experience in nonprofit, government, healthcare, or human services environments.
  • Familiarity with data privacy, consent management, and compliance considerations common to regulated industries.
  • Experience working in lean IT teams with limited resources.

Responsibilities

  • Own the end-to-end Salesforce architecture across CRM, service delivery, production, inventory and van delivery workflows.
  • Design scalable solutions using Salesforce best practices, leveraging standards for the data model, the security model, automation, and integration.
  • Define and maintain architectural standards, documentation, and technical roadmaps.
  • Evaluate new Salesforce features and releases; recommend adoption aligned with organizational priorities.
  • Ensure data quality, integrity, and lifecycle management across systems.
  • Translate business and program requirements into technical designs.
  • Review existing solutions, recommend updates and design complex solutions involving custom objects and data models, advanced automation (Flows and Apex), reporting and analytics, and integration of FSL, Goldfinch, and Formstack packages, as well as additional recommended third-party applications.
  • Review and approve solution designs and configurations created by the Salesforce Administrator, consultants or others.
  • Collaborate with Consulting Chief Information Security Officer and Compliance Officer to implement Salesforce security models in a HIPAA covered organization.
  • Establish, execute and maintain governance processes for changes, releases, and technical debt management.
  • Serve as the technical Salesforce lead and trusted advisor to leadership and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with department leads across the organization to clarify opportunities and challenges, with consideration to existing architecture, in order to provide solutions that are sustainable in the long term.
  • Supervise and partner closely with the Salesforce Administrator, providing guidance, mentorship, and architectural oversight.
  • Collaborate with vendors and consultants; review deliverables for quality and alignment with standards.
  • Support change management and user adoption by ensuring solutions are intuitive and sustainable.
