About The Position

Home Consignment Center is hiring part-time consignment specialists for a fine furniture, rugs, lighting, décor, and accessories consignment store. The primary focus is bringing in beautiful, high-quality furniture on consignment by meeting with consignors, evaluating their items, and pricing products for sale. The role also involves providing friendly customer service in a fast-paced, team-oriented store and helping prepare and present approved merchandise for customers.

Employees handle consignment appointments and previews, communicate with consignors and customers, enter and tag merchandise, place items on the sales floor, process purchases, and help maintain and stage the store. The position offers a flexible schedule, training for candidates without relevant experience, and monthly bonuses based on store sales. Some weekend days are required. Store hours are Monday through Saturday, 10 a.m.–6 p.m., and Sunday, 12 p.m.–5 p.m. The listed salary is $20.00.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Necessary computer skills to learn the point-of-sale (POS) system.
• Able to stand and walk for long periods of time.
• Eager to meet and greet new people.
• Friendly and able to work well with people.
• Able to help move small items around the store for staging.
• Punctual and reliable.
• Good at multitasking.
• Open availability on weekends.

Nice To Haves

• Relevant experience is not required; training is provided.
• Interest in decorating, home décor, and design.

Responsibilities

• Preview items, meet with consignors, and take consignment appointments.
• Provide customer service.
• Check and respond to emails from consignors and customers daily.
• Accurately enter products into the computer database for sale.
• Tag approved products for sale.
• Place approved items on the sales floor.
• Check customers out at the register.
• Frequently stage and decorate the store and perform general cleaning.
• Answer the phone.
• Assist with social media posts and responses.
• Meet and greet customers and help create a positive customer experience.
• Evaluate consignors' furniture in person and price items for consignment.
