About The Position

Hajoca Corporation, a large, privately-held wholesale distributor of plumbing, heating & cooling, and industrial supplies, is seeking a Sales & Warehouse Specialist for its West Monroe, LA location. This role involves a combination of counter sales, warehouse operations, and driving tasks, with a focus on providing excellent customer service. The company operates in a decentralized environment where each location functions as a Profit Center (PC), managed as a small business. The Sales & Warehouse Specialist will be responsible for engaging with customers, managing inventory, processing orders, and ensuring efficient warehouse operations while adhering to safety standards.

Requirements

  • 1+ years’ experience in warehouse and material handling experience
  • Possess outstanding customer service, verbal communication, and generous listening skills.
  • Be able to build and maintain a positive working relationship with customers, vendors, and co-workers.
  • Be able to quickly develop comprehensive knowledge of products sold at the Profit Center.
  • Be able to learn and operate the computer related systems used in warehouse operations, the delivery process, and to process orders.
  • Know of, be able to apply and practice safety precautions in a warehouse and material handling environment.
  • Know laws, rules and regulations governing driving motor vehicles in general, and commercial motor vehicles subject to the Department of Transportation regulations in particular.
  • Be able to learn to safely operate a forklift and other material handling equipment in use at the Profit Center.
  • Be able to remain calm and function effectively in stressful, unexpected, and/or emergency situations.
  • Be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Be able to read, speak, and understand English.

  • 1+ years’ experience in sales and customer service preferred

Responsibilities

  • Engage in counter sales, warehouse, and driving tasks, providing total care for customers.
  • Provide sales and support to walk-in customers at sales counters and field customers at off-site delivery locations.
  • Receive incoming vendor shipments and customer return material.
  • Stock and maintain warehouse and counter sales areas.
  • Pick, document, and pack customer orders.
  • Load and unload trucks and perform merchandise deliveries and pickups.
  • Assist customers who purchase and/or pick up merchandise at the Profit Center.
  • Accurately process and fill Sales Orders generated at the sales counter.
  • Provide customers with reliable information regarding product specifications, pricing, and availability.
  • Keep counter area and merchandise displays clean, neat, current, stocked, and safely displayed.
  • Process cash sale returns and refund paperwork.
  • Inform supervisor of inventory levels or stock depletions.
  • Process vendor shipments or customer returns.
  • Operate trucks safely and in compliance with Company rules, laws, and regulations.
  • Perform all job functions in accordance with the company’s Safety Standards.
  • Successfully complete required safety and compliance training programs.
  • Perform other reasonably related duties as assigned.
