About The Position

This role focuses on enhancing the skills of the sales team through classroom and on-site training. The Sales Trainer will meet with potential customers on pre-scheduled appointments to diagnose problems, determine desired outcomes, and propose solutions to close sales. This position involves writing job proposals, attending weekly meetings and trade shows, and supporting the management and mission of Woods Basement Systems, Inc.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of business principles and practices.
  • Knowledge of sales, marketing, and customer satisfaction theories and practices.
  • Skill in operating personal computer and programs such as Microsoft Office, database management and other business software.
  • Skill in interpersonal relationship building and maintenance.
  • Skill in written and oral communication.
  • Ability to learn and understand the technical side of the business.
  • Ability to plan and implement sales, marketing and customer satisfaction theories.

  • Bachelors Degree in marketing, business administration or related field; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience to illustrate a proven track record in the business field.
  • Experience in sales and/or marketing, preferably in management position.
  • Must maintain driving record acceptable to insurance underwriters.

  • Knowledge of construction or foundation systems helpful.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver and revisit systematic training program to System Design Specialists to enhance their selling skills and product knowledge.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Sales to identify training needs and opportunities for improvement.
  • Facilitate new hire experience through onboarding and boot camp training.
  • Drive to potential customers’ homes to meet with them for pre-scheduled appointments, build rapport, and demonstrate expertise in Woods product discipline(s).
  • Determine customer’s problems, needs, and desired outcomes by asking questions and completing a customer questionnaire or “Fact Sheet.”
  • Identify problems and opportunities in the customer’s home and then propose solutions to resolve problems and meet or exceed expected outcomes.
  • Attempt to bring sale of solution to a close.
  • Write job proposal for each job to include diagram(s), photographs, instructions, inventory needed, the customer “Job Work Sheet” accomplish list, pricing lists and the total price of the job.
  • Turn job proposals into company premises every 24 hours.
  • Follow up by phone and re-visit the customer as necessary.
  • Assist in the financing of a job and collect payment on past due accounts.
  • Advise and train colleagues on sales issues.
  • Support business planning in other areas of the company.
