About The Position

Johnson Brothers is a national family-owned wine, spirits and beer distributor seeking Full-Time Sales Trainee/Merchandisers to join their metro sales teams. Candidates should be competitive, self-motivated, able to work independently, and customer service oriented. In this position, you will be servicing and selling wine and spirits to retail store accounts in the Twin Cities metro area, representing recognized and successful products in the beverage industry. This role supports, services, and maintains accounts, is responsible for stocking shelves, coolers, and building displays, and follows up after deliveries to service shelves from back stock. The position is intended to train new personnel who will eventually have a sales territory and may involve achieving sales objectives, territory management, selling current and new products, promotions, in-store tastings, and servicing accounts.

Requirements

  • Work experience in the liquor industry, such as: bartender, wait staff, liquor store experience, etc. a plus.
  • Goal and results oriented.
  • Ability to work independently, meet deadlines and prioritize work.
  • Competitive, self-motivated and customer service orientated.
  • Professional written and oral communication skills a must.
  • Have reliable transportation with valid insurance.
  • Good driving record.
  • Ability to lift to 50-pound cases, sometimes repeatedly.

Responsibilities

  • Travels around assigned territory to service accounts
  • Check quantities of goods on display, cold box placements, in stock and service the accounts
  • Fills shelves from displays and back stock to ensure out of stock items are minimized.
  • Develops and maintains relationships with customers.
  • Communicates with Sales Representatives regarding changes in buyer’s preferences, out of stock inventory, oversight in shelf space and any concerns/situations encountered during business hours.
  • Build and develop trust and a strong working relationship of the retailer by upholding Johnson Brothers corporate values, have excellent customer service and a “can-do” attitude.
  • Perform other work-related tasks and special projects as assigned.
  • Stocking shelves, coolers and building displays.
  • Follow up after deliveries are made by drivers and service shelves from the liquor department storage areas.
