In addition to retail operations, Pro-Play Games is actively involved in organizing play, hosting events, and cultivating a superior in-store customer experience. They are seeking a sales lead to enhance store performance, lead by example on the sales floor, and contribute to the team's professional development. This role is ideal for an individual who recognizes that exceptional retail involves more than just transactions; it requires building trust, fostering relationships, addressing customer needs, maintaining profit margins, and ensuring a vibrant and engaging sales environment.

Requirements

  • Prior retail, sales, or hobby store experience preferred.
  • Leadership or key-holder experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Comfortable giving direction and holding peers accountable in a respectful way.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities at once.
  • Strong personal accountability, punctuality, and professionalism.
  • Interest in trading card games and hobby culture preferred.
  • Working knowledge of major TCG titles is a major plus.
  • Ability to problem-solve in real time and stay calm under pressure.
  • Must be dependable and able to work weekends, peak hours, and event-heavy schedules.

Responsibilities

  • Lead by example through strong customer engagement and solution-based selling.
  • Help drive daily sales performance and support store revenue goals.
  • Coach team members on customer interaction, attach sales, objection handling, and closing.
  • Ensure customers are greeted quickly and professionally by staff.
  • Help uncover the “need behind the need” by asking strong questions and guiding customers toward the right products.
  • Support the team in selling across multiple categories including sealed product, singles, accessories, and event-related items.
  • Maintain awareness of current market trends, hot items, and store events.
  • Help protect margins through steady awareness of asset protection.
  • Ensure staff maintains the sales floor clean, organized, stocked, and presentable.
  • Lead reps with their merchandising, restocking, binder/wall presentation, and product visibility.
  • Support management in enforcing company policies, processes, and expectations.
  • Help communicate daily priorities, promotions, and team focus areas.
  • Monitor staff performance on shift and escalate concerns when needed.
  • Assist in training new team members on sales standards, store expectations, and customer interaction.
  • Help ensure store operations run smoothly during busy periods, weekends, and major releases.
  • Support event days and high-traffic weekends with urgency and professionalism.
