About The Position

This role is based at our corporate office in Memphis, TN. This is your chance to be part of a Finance Team that is a critical partner that manages all global activities related to financial performance, accounting, tax, forecasting, risk management, and asset management. As a Sales Tax Accountant on the Hilton Transaction Tax team, reporting to, Manager, Transaction Taxes, you will focus on the compliance of sales, use and transient occupancy tax returns. This includes evaluating data to file accurate tax returns. You will also assist with research, audits and planning projects.

Requirements

One (1) year of state sales and use tax
Two (2) years of general ledger accounting experience
Experience analyzing financial data
Experience with financial systems, such as PeopleSoft, and proficient in Excel, and Word
Research tax implications

Nice To Haves

BA/BS Bachelor's Degree
Knowledge of indirect, transaction, sales and use tax

Responsibilities

Prepare, research, and file multiple sales, occupancy, use, telecom, liquor and use tax returns for multiple jurisdictions.
Maintain a tax calendar or automated workflow with due dates, registration numbers to ensure all returns are filed.
Responsible for the monthly analyzing exemptions with the responsibility of accepting or rejecting to comply with laws and rules.
Respond to requests for tax information from internal customers and taxing jurisdictions, resolving compliance issues with taxing authorities.

Work with team members, corporate accountants and hotel team members.
Identify or assist with opportunities to improve operations or improve processes and how we can better serve the hotels and improve the accuracy and filing of transaction tax compliance.
