About The Position

First Citizens Bank has an incredible opportunity for a Sales Support Specialist (Commercial Lending Assistant). We are hiring banking professionals who have had proven success in their past careers, are self-motivated, and possess strong relationship building skills. This role is an integral part of our team, partnering with Commercial and/or Business Banking groups in the sales, servicing and management of clients and loan portfolios. This position is not remote and requires the candidate to live within commuting distance of 15950 W. Dodge Rd., in Omaha, Nebraska.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED with 4+ years of experience in sales or lending support OR Bachelor’s Degree with experience in sales or lending support
  • 2+ years of prior experience in Commercial Lending Support
  • Familiarity with Loan Origination Software (LOS) and document management platforms
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, strong computer skills, and an ability to learn banking systems
  • Understanding of basic accounting principles and the ability to review and process financial statements
  • High accuracy in reviewing loan applications, assembling files, and drafting loan documentation.
  • Exceptional written and verbal skills for communicating with lenders, clients, appraisal department, and title agencies.
  • A solid understanding of commercial lending compliance, federal and state regulations such as BSA (Bank Secrecy Act), AML (Anti-Money Laundering), HMDA, and OFAC.

Responsibilities

  • Provide ongoing sales support to Lenders, including identifying sales and cross sell opportunities, coordinating materials for presentations, setting up sales calls, maintaining prospect lists, and making joint calls as needed.
  • Originate, process, and ensure accuracy of loan documentation for closings. This includes entering financial information into the loan system and ensuring that all necessary documentation is included in the loan package prior to closing.
  • Resolve documentation exception issues, maintain service levels, update financial statements, and prepare files for all portfolio reviews. Run reports to track maturing lines/loans and service levels.
  • Communicate, report, and follow up on portfolio past dues to ensure they remain current, while maintaining customer contact.
  • Coordinate opening of deposit and other banking services with branch partners. Handle customer requests for information and problem resolution.
