Ferguson, a Fortune 500 company, is a leading value-added distributor of residential and commercial plumbing supplies and pipe, valves, and fittings in the U.S. HPS Specialties – A Ferguson Company is hiring Sales Support Representatives who are ready to help customers, solve problems, have great attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, people skills, the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and learn the business from the ground up. This is a full-time on-site position at our Mount Airy, MD location. Requirements

  • 0-3 years of sales and/or customer service experience is preferred.
  • Industrial PVF and/or commercial HVAC/plumbing industry experience is preferred.
  • Exhibit strong skills for sales, including the ability to upsell.
  • Proven track record of responding quickly to customer needs and ability to make decisions in a timely manner.
  • Ability to react well in a fast-paced environment & follow through on commitments.
  • Highly motivated and customer service-oriented mentality with ability to build relationships is a plus.
  • General digital literacy including Microsoft Office.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to quickly learn product knowledge and processes.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a general working knowledge of HPS Specialties and the products, services and solutions that we represent.
  • Learn to select and price the best product solution for each application based on the customers' request, specific application and bid documents (narratives, plans, and specifications).
  • Develop material quotes from mechanical drawings and specifications.
  • Work closely with customers and manufacturers to coordinate all aspects of material release and delivery.
  • Learn and apply internal processes and programs to maximize customer satisfaction and increase overall productivity.
  • Work together with Sales associates to support customer needs by determining the best products and solutions. This includes reviewing job drawings, specifications, and material selections to provide quotations or technical submittal documents for review and approval prior to release of material.
  • Ensuring the delivery of personalized customer service through timely quotations and accurate sales orders.
  • Answer sales calls for general information, addressing and resolving customer concerns or questions.
