Job Summary: As a Sales Support Engineer you will provide technical and commercial sales support for Caterpillar Switchgear products. This includes assisting Outside Sales personnel and dealers with product application, and quotation support. Work on a team with other Sales Support Engineers who perform the same role for their assigned regions. The incumbent manages the completion of work assignments and coordinates closely with Outside Sales to support the dealers.

Nice To Haves

  • Background in automation and controls, with the ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
  • Experience within Electric Power (EP) environments or applications
  • Prior exposure to switchgear products and related customer or project requirements
  • Experience supporting technical quoting, pricing, or proposal development in a sales or engineering support role
  • Strong cross‑functional collaboration skills, with the ability to partner effectively across teams to support order execution

Responsibilities

  • Review and technically evaluate customer drawings, specifications, and RFQs to fully understand requirements and scope
  • Develop accurate pricing and proposals in response to requests from internal sales teams and dealer partners
  • Manage iterative quoting cycles, including multiple revisions based on customer feedback and changing requirements
  • Support post‑purchase changes by updating quotes and documentation after purchase orders are issued
  • Receive, review, and process customer orders and purchase orders with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Extract and interpret key technical and commercial details from customer documentation to ensure proper order execution
  • Partner closely with internal stakeholders to move orders forward efficiently and resolve issues as they arise
  • Identify opportunities to improve quoting, order processing, and documentation workflows
  • Serve as a technical resource for the team, contributing to training materials and supporting overall team development
