About The Position

The Sales Support Specialist plays a critical role in driving revenue performance by enabling the sales organization through accurate pricing execution, customer account management, and operational coordination. This position ensures that sales teams are equipped with the tools, data, and support required to convert opportunities efficiently and execute commercial programs with precision. Acting as a central point of coordination between Sales, Customer Service, and internal departments, this role ensures alignment across pre-order activities, minimizes execution errors, and protects pricing integrity. This is a performance-driven commercial operations role with direct impact on sales productivity, customer experience, and revenue protection.

Requirements

  • Minimum 6 months of experience working as an Administrative Assistant or customer service in a related area
  • Computer literate: Outlook, Word, Excel, Adobe Acrobat
  • Must possess strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills in addition to being a team player
  • Able to prioritize and multitask with attention to detail
  • Excellent writing and verbal communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related area preferred
  • Great Plains knowledge preferred
  • General knowledge of USA Geography

Responsibilities

  • Provide timely and professional support to internal sales teams and customers via phone and email as needed
  • Act as a central point of contact for sales-related inquiries, ensuring fast resolution and clear communication
  • Support Territory and Regional Managers with daily operational needs, including project coordination and program execution
  • Assist in managing special orders and intercompany programs to ensure alignment with commercial strategy
  • Identify opportunities to support upselling and improved lead conversion through accurate information and proactive coordination
  • Route and manage inbound leads and inquiries to appropriate stakeholders
  • Advocate for customer and sales needs across departments, ensuring issues are resolved efficiently
  • Support standardization of processes and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
  • Provide product availability insights to support sales planning and customer commitments
  • Partner with Training/Education teams to identify skill gaps and recommend development opportunities
  • Maintain accurate customer account profiles, including contacts, shipping details, pricing structures, and program participation
  • Execute pricing updates, discounts, and contract terms in ERP systems (GP) with strict adherence to approval workflows
  • Validate pricing accuracy against approved price books, promotional programs, and contract agreements prior to order submission
  • Manage account lifecycle updates including account setup, maintenance, and closure while ensuring compliance with Finance policies
  • Coordinate with Sales, Customer Service, and Sales Ops to resolve pricing discrepancies or account-related issues
  • Maintain and distribute electronic price books and ensure alignment with current commercial strategies
  • Ensure all pricing and product data supports revenue objectives and margin expectations
  • Manage sample requests and display orders in coordination with internal departments to support sales initiatives
  • Coordinate distribution of marketing materials, including brochures, price books, labels, and sales kits
  • Monitor inventory levels of samples and marketing materials, ensuring availability and timely replenishment
  • Support new product launches by ensuring sales teams have access to updated tools and materials
  • Coordinate shipping and logistics for materials using internal systems (e.g., FedEx platform)
