About The Position

This role supports the sales team by performing back-end tasks to allow salespeople to focus on sales more efficiently and productively, aiming to increase sales Return on Investment (ROI) and customer satisfaction. The position involves billing and credit management, reception duties, continuous improvement of product knowledge and sales fundamentals, and company expense administration. It is a regular, full-time position located in Winnipeg, Manitoba, with potential for growth.

Requirements

  • Grade 12 minimum completed.
  • Ideally 1-2 years of related experience.

Responsibilities

  • Support the sales team by performing back-end tasks.
  • Invoicing all outgoing shipments and pickups, empty reel returns, material and/or miscellaneous credits.
  • Answering all inbound phone calls from customers and suppliers in a professional and timely manner, and redirecting calls to appropriate departments.
  • Continuously and consistently engaging in activities to improve personal product knowledge, technical expertise and sales fundamentals.
  • Processing business expenses in Workday Software and ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Cash Sale Deposit and reconciliation.
  • Ensuring all job functions are performed in accordance with the Corporate (SPI) Manual.
  • Assisting in various functions in office sales and administration.
  • Liaising with operations and purchasing personnel while entering orders.
  • Entering pricing quotations for customers, requesting vendor price and delivery (P&D) quotations and following up on every quote.
  • Administering the opening of new accounts and maintaining existing customer-account databases.
  • Providing information updates, and solving problems when needed, on shipments sent to customers and incoming shipments from manufacturers.
  • Processing Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) and Reel Return paperwork.
  • Ensuring proper administration in the management of freight claims and reel returns.
  • Running Customer Sales Report for the sales team.
  • Keeping note of non-stock items frequently requested and sharing findings with the sales team and purchasing.
  • Tracking no-charge “penny” reels and paid reels according to branch policy.
  • Performing over-the-counter sales if the branch supports it.
  • Investigating orders considered dated and finding if there is any action required to finalize them.
  • Looking after the accounts of salespeople on vacation and/or holidays.
  • Working respectfully and diligently to grow existing business by promoting Noramco products and consistently offering expertise and service.
  • Dealing with every customer complaint in an expedient manner and ensuring they are satisfied with the resolution.
  • Receiving and sorting mail and deliveries.
  • Preparing deposits, account payables, freight claims, and daily summaries.
  • Managing and securing counter cash and counter cash sales documents according to company procedures.
  • Processing paperwork from counter and warehouse for invoicing.
  • Completing all office processes including computer functions and supplier accounts within the required timelines.
  • Balancing Petty Cash and ensuring beginning and end of day procedures are completed on the computer system.
  • Continuously maintaining technical knowledge to remain up-to-date on various product lines.
  • Participating in the cyclical and annual physical inventory preparation and counting.
  • Other assigned related tasks.
