About The Position

The Hotel Chocolat Sales Supervisor is responsible for working in partnership with the Store Manager and Assistant Store Manager to deliver an exceptional customer experience, operational excellence and deliver the financial results planned for the business. The core accountability is to provide on-site leadership to ensure the consistent delivery of results and service to the Hotel Chocolat Consumers.

Requirements

  • 2+ years experience of working in customer service is essential.
  • A positive attitude and desire to work in a customer facing environment.
  • Previous retail leadership experience a plus.
  • Demonstrate previous experience of working as part of a team to achieve a shared goal or target.
  • Understand that working in retail means being flexible to support colleagues and workload according to needs.
  • Able to identify product types and use guidelines to ensure displays are well presented and stocked according to specifications, seasonal promotions, and special offers.
  • Ask relevant questions to ensure they are listening carefully to customers individual needs and reacting accordingly.
  • Adapt their style to different customer types.
  • Communicate openly and honestly with respect and clarity with colleagues and manager.
  • Able to learn about a diverse range of products but also able to understand the background to those products- how they’re grown and produced as well as a passion for cocoa, and a strong desire to learn about people’s differing tastes and any relevant allergens.
  • Always ready to learn about new products and innovations as they are introduced.
  • Use initiative to get things done.
  • Take ownership of development, with the support of their Line Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Provide on-site leadership to ensure the consistent delivery of results and service to Hotel Chocolat Consumers.
  • Deliver the retail strategy within their store location.
  • Provide exemplary leadership that drives a high performing engaged team and consistently embeds the Hotel Chocolat culture into the team and environment.

  • Optimize sales through effective customer experience and selling techniques.
  • Ensure the delivery of exceptional customer service to each and every guest through product knowledge, selling skills and experiential elements specific to the location.
  • Manage team and self to achieve exceptional customer service as defined by the brand and measured by secret shopper reports and sales performance.
  • Represent the brand and location externally with stakeholders, mall leadership and in the community as required.
  • Partner with Visual, Marketing and Operations to ensure executional excellence in processes within the store.
  • Share and develop retail and cocoa knowledge to give all customers a consistent customer experience.
  • Learn the range of products including the variety of products and categories sold, how cocoa is grown and products are manufactured, allergens and commitments to sustainability and ethics.
  • Run tasting sessions and demonstrations for customers of products.
  • Work with the team on receiving deliveries, adhering to H&S guidelines, and ensuring stock is safely secured in stockroom areas.
  • Ensure stock is presented appropriately according to guidelines, kept clean and tidy and best before dates are adhered to on the shop floor.
  • Maintain inventory control and accuracy to reduce shrink and reduce store expenses.
  • Ensure Health & Safety compliance through effective Daily Operations.
  • Maintain outstanding hygiene & cleanliness standards throughout the store.
  • Maintain all aspects of store security in accordance with company policies & procedures (example: Cash, Stock, IT, Buildings, H&S).
  • Be responsible for the opening and closing procedures for the store & all business requirements whilst holding the store and Keys.
  • Evaluate store operations budgets and provide recommendations to Store Manager for greater efficiencies; responsible for the successful implementation of operational continuous improvement.
  • Assess, develop and coach associates.
  • Manage staffing levels in the store through effective zone scheduling based on business needs and budgets.
  • Drive associate engagement daily and partner with Store Manager on engagement sessions and execution of impact plans.
  • Direct and motivate team to meet or exceed objectives and store performance metrics.
  • Execute consistent measurement standards for associate performance.
