About The Position

The sales representative position is responsible for maintaining guest service, generating sales, housekeeping, merchandising, signing, pricing, cash register operations (POS) and loss prevention in adherence to all company policy/store standards. This role ensures that each guest receives outstanding service by providing a guest-friendly environment, maintaining outstanding standards, and possessing solid product knowledge. The position also involves assisting with floor moves, merchandising, display maintenance, store housekeeping, processing and replenishing merchandise, and maintaining plant material in the retail area. Additionally, the sales representative will restock the retail yard with plants from the wholesale area and communicate material quantities and future needs to management.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• U.S. Citizen, Permanent Resident

Nice To Haves

• 1-3 years of sales experience.
• Associates or Bachelor degree in horticulture, landscape design or plant biology preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure that each guest receives outstanding guest service by providing a guest friendly environment, including greeting and acknowledging every guest, maintaining outstanding standards, solid product knowledge and all other components of guest service.
• Maintain an awareness of all product information, merchandise promotions, test merchandise and advertisements.
• Assist in floor moves, merchandising, display maintenance and store housekeeping.
• Assist in processing and replenishing merchandise; participate in receiving and monitoring floor stock; ensure re-wraps are done promptly.
• Adhere to all company policies, procedures and practices, including signing, pricing, and loss prevention.
• Accurately and efficiently complete all sales transactions and maintain proper cash and media accountabilities at POS registers.
• Communicate guest requests to management.
• Maintain all plant material in the retail area, including but not limited to watering, pruning, scouting for insects and disease, etc.
• Restocking the retail yard with plants out of the wholesale area and communicating with the Nursery Manager and Garden Center Manager on material quantities and future needs.
