About The Position

The Sales Representative will work with the Sales Manager to develop and execute market-specific strategies, account plans, and call plans to meet sales volume and budget objectives for the Southern Indiana region. This role involves nurturing customer relationships, negotiating effectively, closing sales, identifying customer needs, and managing past-due balances. The representative will also introduce new products, assist in project tracking, forecast sales, monitor market conditions, and ensure adherence to safety policies. Additionally, they may take on leadership roles in industry associations and manage customer complaints in collaboration with other managers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a construction field or sales/marketing or related field and/or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of three years ready-mix concrete experience desired.
  • Strong and effective communicator.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including written and oral communications.
  • Ability to provide direct and actionable feedback.
  • Self-motivated with ability to work with minimal supervision in a team environment.
  • Must be willing to reside within the area of responsibility.
  • Proficiency with computers, including Google G Suite and MS Office.

Responsibilities

  • Work with the Sales Manager to develop market-specific strategies.
  • Execute strategies, account plans, and call plans.
  • Meet proposed sales volume and selling expense budgets and forecasts for the region.
  • Nurture and build customer relationships.
  • Negotiate effectively with customers.
  • Close sales.
  • Identify unmet and/or latent customer needs and communicate them with the Sales Manager.
  • Minimize outstanding past-due balances.
  • Broaden and deepen the business relationship with the customer.
  • Meet performance objectives.
  • Embrace and actively drive implementation of more effective sales processes and practices.
  • Take on leadership roles in industry associations.
  • Manage customer complaints and resolutions along with the Sales, Production and Quality Control Manager.
  • Confer with the Sales Manager to develop sales objectives for market areas and recommend pricing strategies and promotional programs for key customers.
  • Introduce new and existing customers to new product lines to promote growth of market share.
  • Assist in identifying, working with and tracking projects in the early stage of development.
  • Forecast short and long term sales volumes.
  • Monitor market conditions and their possible effects on the company.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to safety policies in all work environments and areas.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.
