Requirements

  • 5+ years in a Sales Position
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Excellent people skills – proven record at being a part of a team
  • Business acumen
  • Competitive and winning track record
  • Strong understanding of building professional relationships with our Customers to ensure strong communication lines are open and frequently utilized
  • Ability to travel within assigned territory
  • Safe driving record
  • Advanced knowledge of industry, must be able to use consistent exercise of discretion and judgement
  • Advanced beyond basic proper use of grammar, punctuation, and spelling
  • Basic mathematics
  • Legal and proper telephone etiquette and techniques
  • Standard office software applications
  • Standard office equipment
  • Advanced beyond basic application of data processing in the maintenance of records and reports
  • Advanced beyond basic computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, and Access) tools is essential
  • Expert knowledge of how to communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing
  • Work intellectually in character in order to exercise independent decision making
  • Accurately type a minimum of 40 words per minute
  • Accurately and timely keep up with to-dos
  • Perform research and report results
  • Read and apply rules, regulations, and proofread material, and make necessary corrections
  • Work cooperatively and effectively with Management, staff, and the public
  • Demonstrate outstanding organizational skills and ability to prioritize work

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with heavy equipment sales, bare-lease rentals, service sales, parts and rigging sales.
  • Strong understanding of contracts
  • Dispatch scheduling - a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Make regular sales calls to develop new relationships and follow up on leads in a timely manner.
  • Visit prospective customers and create a customer relationship, identify customer needs and establish buying and utilization cycles.
  • Identify new opportunities to network with new customers or new referral sources in your assigned territory to increase current market share.
  • Take the initiative to discover additional sales opportunities within existing accounts.
  • Maintain contact with existing customers to increase timely awareness of opportunities that present themselves based upon knowledge of the customer’s business needs.
  • Provide sales service and support of all jobs and customers in your assigned territory.
  • Maintain a list of all sales proposals that were not engaged by customers and determine specific reasons why the sale was not awarded to the Company.
  • Develop plan for overcoming customer rejections and be motivated to identify new techniques.
  • Maintain a weekly sales call report to include segment reporting.
  • Represent the Company at new and existing association events.
  • Attend and provide necessary data at all sales meetings.
  • Keep management aware of all aspects of market trends and analysis.
  • Meet established sales quotas and revenue goals as determined by management team.
  • Promote and maintain strong communication and productive relationships with Sales Team, Management and Field personnel.
  • Keep personnel informed on any special requirements for jobs and/or customers.
  • Assist management in resolving personnel problems when necessary.
  • Assist with site inspections and assessment of hoisting requirements.
  • Demonstrate a complete knowledge of the Company’s products and services offered.
  • Keep informed on the products and services offered by the Company’s competitors.
  • Proactively seek out information to increase your knowledge of new equipment and services that are of interest to customers.
  • Provide and maintain accurate quotations to customers and dispatch department.
  • Prepare accurate and complete orders for dispatch.
  • Ensure that the establishment of new credit for new customers and existing credit for current customers adhere to the Company credit policies.
  • Assist with timely resolution of customer disputes.
  • Provide assistance when requested by credit department on customer account collection.
  • Provide timely information for potential invoice credits to customers.
  • Prepare accurate, complete and timely expense reports.
  • Ensure that Company safety procedures and policies are adhered to in the workplace.
  • Identify and react to any ongoing or current safety issues.
  • Participate in all branch safety meetings.
  • Follow up on customer safety requirements.
