About The Position

Responsible for the successful marketing (sales, renewals, and/or service) of group and/or individual accounts for products as defined by production quotas within assigned territory. Customarily and regularly engaged in outside sales. This position is focused on the local Chamber of Commerce developing and maintaining relationships with local chamber, selling small group and product to memberships. Three years of outside sales experience is preferred along with two years selling ACA Medicare, Small Group health insurance. This territory covers the coast of South Carolina.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • One-year sales and marketing.
  • Ability to develop/maintain effective relationships with groups, agents, and potential customers.
  • Knowledge of marketing principles, techniques, and the marketplace.
  • Effective presentation and customer service skills.
  • Analytical or critical thinking skills.
  • Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.
  • Effective organizational skills.
  • Ability to persuade, negotiate, or influence others.
  • Ability to handle confidential or sensitive information with discretion.
  • Microsoft Office.
  • Department of Insurance Licensure must be obtained within 60 days of hire in state employed.

Nice To Haves

  • Three years of outside sales experience
  • Two years' experience selling ACA Medicare, Small Group health insurance
  • SC Health and Life Insurance License
  • Two years territory management.
  • CRM Software and working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Access, or other spreadsheet/database software.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and executes marketing plans for new sales and/or retention of existing accounts within assigned territory.
  • Prepares and presents proposals and communications to groups, agents, and/or individuals.
  • Develops and maintains professional relationships with groups, agents, and/or individuals.
  • Assesses agency, agent, group, and/or individual sales opportunities and works with groups, agent, and/or individuals to resolve problem issues.
  • Conducts on-going market research and provides key information that may lead to sales.
  • Prepares and submits required marketing reports to management detailing how best to position company products.
  • Maintains product/industry knowledge and marketing skills by attending trading seminars, continuing education classes, conferences, etc.
