About The Position

Rogers Group is currently seeking a Sales Representative for our Virginia SMA. This position reports directly to the Area Sales Manager and is responsible for the sale and marketing of construction aggregates in the Harrisonburg, VA area. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated ability to lead safety, quality, and revenue generation throughout our existing operations and additional operations through growth.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field or equivalent experience.
  • Experience may be substituted for education.
  • Must be a self-starter with excellent planning, administrative and communication skills, capable of developing and maintaining good relationships with customers and co-workers.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of 2 years in the aggregate/construction industry preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Dedicated to providing the highest level of service and commitment to meet the expectations of both internal and external customers.
  • Develop and understanding of the overall business, including the technical aspects of the products and markets we serve.
  • Establish, develop, and maintain positive relationships by continuous face to face meetings, phone calls, and contact with customers.
  • Maintain an open channel of communication with customers regarding upcoming projects and work.
  • Provide customers with quotes for all materials and services Rogers Group offers.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of the competition and remain aware of how their strategies and tactics are being utilized in the marketplace.
  • Obtain feedback from customers on all aspects of our products and services and relay appropriate information to management.
  • Keep Area Sales Manager informed of feedback regarding pricing, services or activities of our competitors in a timely manner.
  • Use our customer contact software, Salesforce, to input and maintain all pertinent information on each customer to include address, contacts, important dates, hobbies, etc.
  • Discuss credit issues with customers as directed by our Division Controller or Area Sales Manager.
  • Actively participate in the preparation of our annual sales budget.
  • Participate in local business groups and trade associations.
  • Develop good communication habits and working relationship with location Plant Manager.
  • Keep location Plant Manager updated on project schedules to include products and tonnages on a continuous basis.
  • Communicate with CSR on a daily basis regarding customer orders, trucking, and any potential issues and provide assistance as needed.
  • Maintain communication with QA/QC regarding quality of products and work with Plant Manager to ensure customer is provided with only quality material.
