About The Position

Empire Distributors Inc, a leading beverage distributor, is now hiring a Sales Representative for Retail Spirits. This role involves selling spirits to retail package stores, servicing current accounts, and identifying new sales leads. The representative will travel through an assigned territory daily to call on customers, solicit orders, sell displays, and handle product issues. They will also quote prices, estimate delivery dates, resolve customer problems, and maintain communication with various internal teams. Administrative tasks include preparing tracking reports and executing sales plans. The position requires continuous training and product knowledge, participation in supplier events, and adherence to local and state laws.

Requirements

  • Associate degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Valid Driver License
  • Automobile Insurance - 100/300/50 minimum limits of liability
  • Must have the ability to obtain a Tennessee ABC Wholesaler's permit.
  • Basic computer knowledge and a knowledge of Order Processing System

Responsibilities

  • Sells Spirits to retail package stores for wholesale distributor.
  • Service and maintain current accounts with orders for Empire Spirit Products and customer service.
  • Compiles lists of prospective customers for use as sales leads.
  • Travels through assigned territory daily to call on regular and prospective customers to solicit orders, sells displays, present items for distribution, and handle damages and off-condition product.
  • Quotes prices and credit terms for orders obtained.
  • Estimates date of delivery to customer, based on knowledge of own firm's production and delivery schedules.
  • Confers with District Manager to resolve customer problems.
  • Investigates and resolves customer problems with deliveries.
  • Identifies and respond to customers' needs.
  • Maintains frequent and open communication with drivers, driver supervisors, district managers, sales managers and the general manager.
  • Prepares and maintains distribution tracking reports, planning and goals, case and dollar tracking and other administrative tasks as assigned.
  • Executes sales plans and maintain accounts according to company standards.
  • Tracks progress of goals on a weekly basis.
  • Participates in supplier work-withs.
  • Continually maintains training and product knowledge.
  • Delivers emergency orders when needed.
  • Attends trade show.
  • Conducts business according to local and state laws.
