About The Position

The Particle Counting & Characterization Sales Representative is responsible for tailoring Beckman Coulter solutions to help customers achieve their research, quality control, and manufacturing objectives across a broad range of particle analysis applications. This role supports customers in regulated and research environments, with emphasis on particle counting, particle characterization, environmental monitoring, liquid particle counting, particle sizing, TOC, and related biopharmaceutical quality control workflows. This position reports to the Central US Cell Health and Centrifugation (CHC) & Particle Counting and Characterization (PCC) Regional Manager and is part of Beckman Coulter’s best in class commercial organization. While the manager oversees both CHC and PCC product lines, this role is dedicated to the Particle Counting & Characterization portfolio. This is a fully remote role covering portions of the Midwest and Eastern US, including: Michigan, Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky, West Virginia, New York (except New York City), and Western Pennsylvania.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in life sciences, chemistry, engineering, or related scientific discipline with 2+ years of relevant sales experience.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills with a solid understanding of tactical sales skills (prospecting, qualifying, closing, and growing existing customers)
  • Highly motivated and success-driven with a demonstrated track record of success, ideally in a Life Science, BioPhama, Industrial and/or other Technical/Capital equipment sales area.
  • Excellent time and territory management habits, with strong interpersonal skills and a team-player attitude.
  • Experience working with distribution channels, along with experience with personal computer, e-mail, and Microsoft Office programs, as well as CRM, SFDC preferred
  • Experience selling scientific instrumentation, capital equipment, or workflow solutions into pharmaceutical, biotechnology, academic, government, environmental monitoring, or quality control laboratories.
  • Familiarity with GMP-regulated environments, contamination control strategies, particle analysis technologies, bioprocessing workflows, or related laboratory applications.
  • Ability to travel – Up to 50% travel, including overnight travel within the assigned territory and to other locations as needed for customer engagement, training, and sales meetings
  • Must have valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record

Responsibilities

  • Annually submit and implement a detailed sales plan identifying: sales objectives, sales opportunities, major customers, and regional shows to be attended during the fiscal year and perform all sales activity within an assigned geographic territory
  • Participate in sales activities including: customer site visits, telephone contacts, trade seminars and shows, product demonstrations, customer seminars and channel management. Coordinate distributor training activities to achieve corporate objectives
  • Submit monthly forecasts and maintain timely, accurate funnel details
  • Assist in maintaining customer and prospect records within Salesforce CRM and related commercial systems
  • Collect and report competitive activity within the assigned territory utilizing Salesforce CRM
