About The Position

SMS is looking for a Sales Representative, Light Construction to manage the sale of light construction equipment within an assigned territory. This role is responsible for achieving personal sales targets through new business development, maintaining strong customer relationships, and representing SMS Equipment’s products and services to existing customers and new prospects. The work location is Kelowna, BC, with a salary of $48,000 per annum plus short-term incentives. This is a fixed on-site role, requiring work from the branch and customer sites each day, Monday to Friday.

Responsibilities

  • Manage sales of new light construction equipment within an assigned geographic territory.
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships to support ongoing and repeat business.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities with existing customers and new prospects.
  • Act as the primary point of contact between customers and SMS Equipment, ensuring clear and effective communication.
  • Prepare sales presentations, proposals, contracts, and proactive equipment replacement recommendations.
  • Develop regular customer call schedules and complete detailed call reports.
  • Meet or exceed personal sales targets and contribute to sales forecasts and prospect reports.
  • Collaborate with Sales and Operations leadership to support sales action plans and market initiatives.
  • Participate in promotions, new product launches, and industry associations to expand customer networks.
