About The Position

The Commissary Sales & Marketing Representative is responsible for driving the in-house marketing, promotion, and sales of consumer products within commissary facilities. This role requires in-depth knowledge of client brands, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to set up displays, conduct promotions, and increase product sales. The position may also involve leading a team of Retail Coverage Merchandisers to meet objectives while maintaining excellent relationships with clients, customers, and commissary management.

Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED required.
  • 1–3 years of retail sales, merchandising, or training experience preferred.
  • Excellent verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Comfortable interacting with the public and managing client relationships.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Defense security clearance.
  • Need to obtain the clearance within a designated timeframe.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular store calls and maintain visit frequency as assigned.
  • Schedule, conduct, and manage section, category, and full store resets.
  • Cut in new items, ensure proper tagging, and maintain shelf integrity following planograms.
  • Place and maintain promotional signage and Point of Purchase (POP) materials.
  • Execute in-store promotions, events, and client-specific product opportunities, including order coordination and forecast recommendations.
  • Conduct demonstrations and build/program displays to maximize visibility and sales.
  • Monitor shelf stocking by independent contractors; resolve out-of-stock issues and distributor concerns.
  • Manage distributor inventories, markdowns, and coordinate CAO issues with store operations.
  • Direct and oversee the work activities of other Sales Representatives and Merchandisers, including timekeeping approvals.
  • Staff and maintain vendor stockers for temporary support; manage financial obligations for client expenses, displays, and demonstrations.
  • Process vendor credit memorandums and salvage claims.
  • Build and maintain strong professional relationships with commissary management to ensure smooth operations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Comply with all security protocols, reporting requirements, and periodic reinvestigations as required by the Department of Defense.
