About The Position

The Heavy Equipment Parts Sales Representative is responsible for developing and growing parts sales for customers throughout North America within the recycling, solid waste, organics, forestry, and heavy equipment industries. This role serves as a primary point of contact for customers seeking replacement parts, maintenance items, wear components, and technical product support. The ideal candidate combines exceptional customer service skills with strong technical aptitude and a sense of urgency. They must be capable of supporting customers across multiple time zones, identifying and quoting parts accurately, following up on sales opportunities, and building long-term customer relationships that contribute to increased equipment uptime and customer satisfaction. This compensation for this rewards revenue growth, customer retention, and business development success. Base salary is between $60,000-$80,000 + Commission (staring salary is dependent on skills and experience). This position is based in Denver, Colorado and supports customers, dealers, service technicians, and field personnel throughout North America. Occasional travel is required for customer visits, training, trade shows, and industry events.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in parts sales, customer support, equipment service, or a related heavy equipment industry role.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage numerous customer requests simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Experience working with ERP and CRM systems.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and Teams.
  • Proven ability to build customer relationships and close sales opportunities.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in heavy equipment, recycling, waste management, aggregate, forestry, construction, or industrial equipment industries.
  • Familiarity with OEM parts catalogs and technical documentation.
  • Mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, or equipment service experience.
  • Experience with Acumatica ERP, Salesforce CRM, or similar business systems.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish capabilities preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a primary contact for customer parts inquiries received via phone, email, and digital communication channels.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers, dealers, and service partners throughout North America.
  • Deliver professional, timely, and courteous customer service while managing multiple priorities.
  • Support customers across multiple North American time zones and respond to urgent machine-down situations.
  • Collaborate with field service personnel, Product Support Representatives (PSRs), and technical support teams to resolve customer issues.
  • Generate and manage parts quotations, sales orders, and customer proposals.
  • Proactively follow up on quotations and open opportunities to convert quotes into sales.
  • Identify opportunities to increase revenue through upselling, cross-selling, preventative maintenance programs, rebuild kits, and wear part recommendations.
  • Meet or exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales goals.
  • Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, opportunities, and sales activity within company CRM systems.
  • Identify and recommend correct parts utilizing equipment serial numbers, parts catalogs, technical drawings, service documents, and manufacturer resources.
  • Assist customers with troubleshooting and parts identification for mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and wear-component applications.
  • Work closely with OEM partners and internal technical resources to resolve complex parts inquiries.
  • Develop a working knowledge of equipment applications within the recycling, solid waste, composting, wood waste, and heavy equipment industries.
  • Enter and process parts orders accurately and efficiently through the company ERP system.
  • Monitor order status and communicate proactively with customers regarding pricing, availability, delivery schedules, and back orders.
  • Coordinate with purchasing, warehouse, logistics, and service departments to ensure successful order fulfillment.
  • Assist with inventory planning by identifying demand trends, stocking recommendations, and customer requirements.
