Sales Representative - Customer Service
About The Position
Flagpoles Etc. has supplied, manufactured, and installed flagpoles and flags across the country since 1991. Our customers range from homeowners buying their first flagpole to contractors and municipalities planning large projects. We’re looking for a sales representative who is excellent with customers and knows how to close a sale. You’ll handle incoming calls and inquiries, prepare quotes, follow up on open opportunities, and build relationships with commercial customers. About one day a week will involve local visits and relationship building. This is a busy role. You may be helping a homeowner choose a flagpole, working through a contractor’s project details, and following up on several quotes in the same day. We’ll teach you our products and processes. You need to bring sound judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to make customers feel well taken care of even when things are moving fast.
Requirements
- Have a record of selling products or services while delivering excellent customer service.
- Are comfortable on the phone and can turn a conversation into a clear next step.
- Can manage several customers and quotes at once without sacrificing accuracy or follow-through.
- Ask good questions, learn technical product details, and know when to check an answer before giving it to a customer.
- Take ownership of your results and follow up without needing to be chased.
Nice To Haves
- Experience in construction, building materials, industrial products, or project-based sales is helpful.
- Experience preparing detailed quotes or bids is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Respond to residential and commercial inquiries by phone and email, understand what the customer needs, and guide them toward the right solution.
- Prepare accurate quotes and commercial or municipal bids, gathering missing details before making commitments.
- Follow up consistently on quotes and open opportunities.
- Build relationships with contractors, property managers, facility managers, and local businesses.
- Keep customer information and sales opportunities organized so nothing falls through the cracks.
- Work with our Director of Sales and ownership on larger projects.
