About The Position

This position is for a Sales Professional specializing in Outside Sales, working remotely from home. The primary responsibility is to present at-need cemetery and pre-need arrangement services and products to consumers, aiming to achieve monthly sales targets. The role requires a self-starter who can develop community relationships to generate qualified leads, follow up on marketing campaigns, and secure referrals from client families. The professional will apply sales skills to present electronic power point presentations, influence consumers on pre-planning benefits, guide prospective families through cemetery grounds or crematory mausoleums, and offer solutions to meet their unique needs. Providing service beyond expectations, promoting the SCI Brand, and accurately completing contracts are also key. The role involves significant prospecting within the community, maintaining CRM activity, and building professional relationships with families, including supporting them in times of grief. Collaboration with management and staff to provide high-quality services and improve processes is also expected.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Funeral Directors License where required by state law.
  • Life Insurance license where required by state law (company will support obtaining licensing).
  • Current state/province issued driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Computer and technology skills.
  • Goal oriented self-starter.
  • Public speaking ability; comfortable presenting to small groups.
  • Ability to work well in a team, as well as independently.
  • Ability to work a significant number of evenings and weekends.

Nice To Haves

  • College coursework preferred.
  • Sales experience preferred.
  • Industry experience a plus.
  • Previous Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems experience a plus.
  • Bilingual is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Attain or exceed monthly sales revenue quota.
  • Apply sales skills to present Dignity Memorial® Personal Planning Guide electronic power point presentations to consumers.
  • Inform consumers of at-need cemetery and pre-need arrangement services and products.
  • Influence consumers on the benefits of pre-planning for a soft close.
  • Guide and tour prospective families through cemetery grounds or crematory mausoleums.
  • Actively listen to needs, ask probing questions, and discuss options with families.
  • Develop an understanding of each family’s unique needs and offer solutions.
  • Provide service beyond expectations to form the foundation for future sales.
  • Promote the SCI Brand and service excellence.
  • Thoroughly and accurately complete contracts following company processes and procedures.
  • Follow up on outstanding documents and family questions.
  • Provide and walk family through final contract and address final questions.
  • Self-initiate leads throughout the community, professional networks, civic, businesses, and organizations by building professional and reliable relationships.
  • Prospect at least 50% of workday such as approaching families face-to-face during events, door knocking, or seminars.
  • Maintain and track activity levels in Customer Relationship Management (CRM) database.
  • Obtain referrals from families served through after care visits (ACV).
  • Schedule sales appointments.
  • Prepare marketing materials or cultural knowledge for appointments based on qualifying leads.
  • Establish and maintain professional and service oriented relationships with families by connecting, resolving concerns, and meeting commitments.
  • Connect with families through listening, honest communication and genuine concern.
  • Support families in time of grief with acts of kindness; attend services and/or receptions.
  • Represent a continuous link from services provided at need, through aftercare, to providing services to protect families in future.
  • Collaborate and build professional working relationships with management and staff to provide high quality services and improve processes.
  • Share family concerns with rest of the SCI team.
