About The Position

This is an advanced-level DIY sales position requiring expert knowledge of the DIY business, store operations, automotive systems, and parts. The role is responsible for providing advanced automotive problem resolution, including identification, troubleshooting, and project assistance for DIY customers. The Sales Pro has the ability to source parts from various channels, including special orders and FDO, and possesses in-depth knowledge of store inventory and maintenance processes. Fleet safety knowledge is preferred.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in operating POS and Parts lookup systems.
  • Advanced ability to provide solutions, project recommendations, and product quality recommendations.
  • Advanced parts lookup and sourcing skills.
  • Working knowledge of automotive systems and diagnostic ability, including internal engine, suspension, brakes, electronics, exhaust, etc.
  • Ability to speak and write English; communicate effectively and build strong relationships with customers, peers, and management.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, parts catalogs, and procedure manuals; ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to understand and execute instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Successful completion of the Parts Knowledge Assessment.
  • Accurate use of basic math: add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Effective use of Microsoft software (Word, Excel required).
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work an assortment of days, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • 3-5 years of prior automotive parts experience.
  • Proven sales ability with past experience in fulfillment of customer transactions.

Nice To Haves

  • Fleet safety is preferred.
  • ASE certification preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide best-in-class customer service and issue resolution.
  • Deliver a selling experience for all DIY customers, including walk-in, online orders, and phone inquiries.
  • Achieve personal and store sales goals and service objectives.
  • Manage DIY services such as testing, battery, and wiper installations.
  • Ensure high standards of customer service and store appearance.
  • Perform key holder responsibilities, including task assignment and completion, safety, and open/close duties.
  • Assist in store inventory processes, including POGs, truck put away, parts delivery, cycle counts, and back stock management.
  • Act as backup for professional services.
  • Maintain store cleanliness, including floors, bathrooms, facing, dusting, and parking lot.
